Selling your used books to Shakespeare and Company

We buy second-hand English books every day between noon and 7pm except for Wednesdays and Fridays. Please come to the Antiquarian section - to the left of the main bookshop. Remember to bring a piece of valid identification with you (passport, CNI, titre or carte de sejours). Prices will vary depending on the condition and saleability, and we will never quote a price before actually seeing the book.

We are especially interested in paperback literature (classic or contemporary), history, philosophy, essays, poetry, fine arts, and French/Parisian interest. If you have a large number of books to sell (more than 400) please contact us at: news@shakespeareandcompany.com

Buying books from abroad

Good news, far-flung friends! We're now shipping orders worldwide - books, as well as magazines, postcards and other items. Visit the Rare Books website or email your requests to alice@shakespeareandcompany.com. Plus, starting this month, purchase a book in advance of an author event at the shop, and we'll have the writer sign and inscribe the book to you. It's almost as good as being at the reading!
